How many dogs do you board at the same time?
We are licensed to board up to six dogs at a time.
This number includes our own two dogs — our Cocker, Alfie, and our Bocker, Frida — so we board a maximum of four dogs from other households at any one time to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Can I do a trial night for my dog?
Absolutely! A trial night is actually required if your dog’s initial stay is longer than three nights, in line with our licensing regulations.
We offer a 6pm drop-off and a 9:30am pick-up for the trial night, and there’s a £15 charge. This helps us ensure your dog is comfortable, settled, and happy in the new environment before their longer stay.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
We require all dogs to be up to date with their core vaccinations. Kennel Cough (Bordetella) is recommended but not mandatory.
Proof of vaccinations is required before any stay. This could be a copy of your dog’s vaccination card or clinical history.
Do you accept puppies? If so, from what age?
Yes, we do accept puppies! They must be fully vaccinated, with all vaccinations completed at least two weeks before their first stay with us. Puppies must also be a minimum of four months old.
Please note, there is an additional charge of £5 per day or night.
Do you accept entire (unneutered) male dogs?
We are unable to accept entire (unneutered) male dogs over 18 months of age for home boarding or day care.
This is to help maintain a calm and safe environment for all dogs in our care. Thank you for understanding!
Will my dog be allowed off the lead?
For safety reasons, dogs are only allowed off the lead with your permission via an Off-Lead Consent Form, and if we are confident it’s safe based on their recall reliability.
Your dog will be free to roam in the garden, and when appropriate, we also use secure fields for off-lead play. Our priority is to ensure your dog is always safe and happy during their stay with us.
What should I bring for my dog?
Please bring your dog’s usual food, any medication they require, treats, their harness and collar, and any comfort items such as their bed, blanket, or favourite toy. While we encourage you to bring these items to help your dog feel more at home, please note that we cannot guarantee they will remain undamaged during their stay. We will do our utmost to keep everything safe, but accidents can occasionally happen.
What are your drop-off and pick-up times?
Our set drop-off and pick-up times are:
Morning (8:00 am – 10:00 am) or Evening (4:30 pm – 6:30 pm)
For Home Boarding, if pick-up is in a different time slot from drop-off, a daycare charge will be added, as your dog will be with us for most of that extra day.
We can offer a late evening drop-off or pick-up between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm for a small £5 surcharge.
Arrivals or collections outside these times aren’t possible, as we keep to a set routine — this helps the dogs settle, keeps their day predictable, and ensures everyone gets enough rest after a busy day.
How do I pay, and when is payment due?
We accept payment by bank transfer only. For daycare and stays of three nights or fewer, payment is due in full at the time of booking. For stays longer than three nights, we require a 20% deposit at booking, with the remaining balance due at least 48 hours before your dog’s stay. Payment details will be provided upon booking.
Where will my dog sleep?
Your dog will sleep in our home, where we always strive to make them as comfortable as possible. They typically sleep downstairs in the kitchen on their dog beds or in the living room on the sofas. If your dog experiences separation anxiety, we may bring them upstairs to our bedroom to help them feel more at ease.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We completely understand that plans can change. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel. If you cancel more than 28 days before your dog’s stay, we will refund your deposit or full payment. For cancellations within 28 days, we reserve the right to retain the deposit or full payment, or to apply it to a future booking, depending on the circumstances.
What happens if my dog becomes unwell during their stay?
If your dog shows any signs of illness while in our care, we will contact you immediately. If we’re unable to reach you, we will get in touch with your nominated emergency contact.
Should veterinary attention be required, we will take your dog to your designated vet wherever possible. If this is not feasible, we will use our own vet or, in an emergency, the nearest available veterinary practice.
Please note that you will be responsible for any veterinary costs incurred.
Do you provide updates on my dogs stay?
Yes! We send regular updates via WhatsApp. With your permission, we may also share photos and videos on our social media channels (Facebook & Instagram).
